Professional Printing

This week I had to prepare an image to send to a professional print shop. I had to make a lot of edits so that my image would be ready to be printed on a 16×24″ metal slate. I made some basic edits like raising exposure, contrast, shadows, clarity, etc. I also had to lower the highlights to get what I wanted with the hands. I then took my image into photoshop and blacked out everything in the background that I didn’t want to show up. I used dodge and burn to lighten and darken areas on the hands to create more contrast and make the hands look ghostly. I added a sharpen mask to sharpen the hands and parts of the sleeves. Below is the before and after I applied edits.
